Black History Month and What Might Have Been.

Like all of the numerous and diverse cultures that add to America's great mosaic, the African American culture has yielded some remarkable gifts.

Martin Luther King Jr., Robert Abbott, Frederick Douglass, and Harriet Tubman all made enormous strides to better American society. Their contributions are forever woven into the fabric of the freest and most generous society on the planet.

One can only imagine the heights of what might have been or what could still be had it not been for the damage caused and is caused by the leadership in the Democrat party. Leadership that has openly proclaimed superiority over the African American culture and has vilified and tormented its people for centuries.

Whether out of misguided, harmful policies initially meant to improve lives or by way of deceitful tactics infused with racism, the Democrat party has decimated one black generation after the next with the black community's support.

America is a free country, and the black community, like every other ethnic group, is allowed to support any political party, even one that promises to destroy it.

The cost to African Americans due to failed or purposely damaging Democrat party policies is staggering. An April 2020 Op-Ed in the Baltimore Sun made a poignant statement which read, "The reality is that homicides in major cities including Baltimore are not race-neutral. Of the more than three hundred people killed in the streets of Baltimore last year, just about all of them were African Americans." According to a recent January 2021 article in the Chicago Tribune, the pace of homicides in Chicago exceeds last year's high numbers. The year has barely begun, and already, forty-four people, mostly young black men, were murdered in the streets of Chicago. Democrats have run both Baltimore and Chicago for years.

Generations of black children have been slaughtered. Since the 1973 Roe vs. Wade Supreme Court ruling, 19 million black babies have been aborted, according to an Arizona Capitol Times 2020 article. These hellish statistics are not hidden away and are widely known to many in the black community, where some are enraged. In contrast, others accept the carnage in order to personally profit.

The cost to society associated with black incarceration is significant. According to the ACLU, one out of every three black men born today can expect to go to prison. And according to The Bureau of Justice Statistics, the United States spends more than $80 billion each year to keep approximately 2.3 million people in jail.

What is left out in the equation is the opportunity costs to America. How many talented and brilliant African Americans have been murdered in the womb, locked away in prison, or underachieving in the poorly run public school system operated by unions controlled by Democrats?

In order to survive and hold on to power, the Democrat party has always relied on deception and the rewriting of history. But, is there a way for African Americans to identify these many insidious, destructive policies?

The answer is yes, by understanding the 180-degree rule.

Look at the wonderful sounding names Democrats give their socially-responsible programs and the stated intentions. And understand that the results will always be 180 degrees in the opposite direction, or the exact opposite, from its stated goal.

For example, The Green New Deal (GND) promises to make the planet healthier and produce millions of clean energy jobs. But in fact, the exact opposite is true.

The Green New Deal will not just slightly miss its goals, but it will produce outcomes that are 180 degrees away from its stated intentions. The plan will massively increase carbon emissions, put millions of people out of work, and cost 93 trillion dollars.

In an article in the Washington Post, Saikat Chakrabarti, chief of staff to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, said, "The interesting thing about the Green New Deal is it wasn't originally a climate thing at all." Chakrabarti added, "Because we really think of it as a how-do-you-change-the-entire-economy thing."

Black Lives Matter (BLM) proclaims to be concerned with black people's lives, but it's just another prime example of the 180-degree rule where Americas' black lives will be the last ones to benefit from the BLM movement.

The movement will increase black on black murder rates and increase unemployment numbers in the black community. BLM leaders Alicia Garza, Patrisse Cullors, and Opal Tometi stated that they are trained Marxists. Look how well the people in Venezuela are living under the Marxist system.

As stated on their website, other BLM goals call for the disruption of the nuclear-family-structure, abolishing all police and all prisons, and a radical and sustainable redistribution of wealth.

Imagine if BLM went by the name that more accurately described what it stood for. Would anyone in the black community support "Marxists' Lives Matter?" Hell no, so a fake name was promoted that would gain support from the black community.

Celebrating the positive impact and leadership in the black community this month is a beautiful thing. Imagine what black history month might have observed if the Democrat party hadn't destroyed so many promising black lives.
